Mankwe means 'place of the leopard' and for years we have been trying to get photographic proof that they are here. Finally on the 26th July this amazing footage was captured by Nkombi volunteers just outside the Nkombi Camp. We hope that she stays and breeds as it is a great privilege to have her on the reserve.
Due to the good rains, the browse for the giraffe is excellent and they have produced 6 calves this year.
They are very relaxed which gives visitors the unique oppurtunity to walk with them. Mankwe would like to thank West Midlands Police for the donation of dog training kit, it has enabled our team to intensify training
In an effort to protect our wildlife angainst the constant onslaught of poachers Mankwe in conjuction with Rhino 911 have been training the anti-poaching team in air response maneuvers. Managers, scouts and K9's were trained in drill proceedures.
